In her artistic practice, Anne Steinhagen combines elements from material collections, video fragments and photographic investigations into installation-based works. She creates juxtapositions by positioning these fragments in multimedia based, experimental environments. All shown material is presented democratically, inviting the viewer to browse through the space, organize, value and associate the different fragments as a whole. Collections, archives, repetition and temporality are important recurring themes in her work.
In Anne Steinhagens künstlerischer Arbeit verdichten sich immer wieder Elemente aus angelegten Materialsammlungen, Videofragmenten und fotografischen Untersuchungen zu installativen Arbeiten.
Mit dem Ziel in experimentellen, multimedialen Enviroments interagierende Fragmente einander gegenüberzustellen, zwischen denen sich der Betrachter bewegt. Sammlungen, Wiederholungen und das Temporäre spielen in ihrer Arbeit eine bedeutende Rolle. Die Arbeiten sind durchzogen von Verbindungen und Themen wie Wiederholungen, Achiv, Sammlungen und Zeitlichkeit, die unabhängig von Medien und Materialitäten sind.
