In ihrer künstlerischen Arbeit verdichtet Anne Steinhagen Elemente aus Materialsammlungen, Videofragmente und fotografische Untersuchungen zu installativen Arbeiten.
Ihr Ziel ist es experimentelle, multimediale Arbeiten zu schaffen in denen sich der Betrachter mit seinen / ihren Assoziationen bewegt.
Die Arbeiten sind durchzogen von Verbindungen und Themen wie Naturphänome, Spurensuche, Wiederholungen, Sammlungen und Zeitlichkeit, die über die Grenzen von Medien und Materialitäten hinaus funktionieren.

In her artistic practice, Anne Steinhagen combines elements from material collections, video fragments and photographic investigations into installation-based works. She creates juxtapositions by positioning these fragments in multimedia based, experimental environments. All shown material is presented democratically, inviting the viewer to browse through the space, organize, value and associate the different fragments as a whole. Collections, new media, natural phenomenon, repetition and temporality are important recurring themes in her work.
